Color Fast for Rugs is specifically formulated as a cold water extraction product to prevent color loss when cleaning wool or any other fiber that presents a bleeding problem. An acid side detergent formulation that gently, yet effectively cleans even the most challenging of potential bleeders.
Helpful Hints - Always perform a colorfastness test before cleaning any natural fiber material or a material manufactured with acrylic fibers. To perform a colorfastness test, apply a ready-to-use solution to a white terry cloth towel. Apply the moistened towel to each of the colors in the material, using pressure to hold the towel to the material for a minute or two. Remove the moistened towel, allow a minute or two for dwell, then re-apply a dry towel to the tested are. Remove the towel and look for color transfer. If color transfer is evident, test with a different agent. If no color transfer is evident, proceed with cleaning.
• Suggestions: Cold temperature retards color bleeding.
• When cleaning potential bleeders it is best to clean them on a flat surface and allow them to dry flat as well. Do not hang to dry.
Tested by Cleaning Research International in accordance with New Zealand Wool Board performance criteria.
Directions:
Pretest in an inconspicuous area. Colorfast for Rugs will hold most sensitive dyes but some will remain fugitive with any water based solutions.
For Portable Equipment:
1. Dilute 8 oz. of Colorfast for Rugs with each gallon of cool water (16:1).
2. Clean rug using industry stand extraction technique.
For TruckMount Equipment:
1. 1. Dilute 1 gallon of Colorfast for Rugs into 4 gallons of water. Set flow meter between 2-4 GPH.
2. Clean rug using industry standard extraction technique.
Important Suggestions: Do not over wet. A major cause of delayed color bleeding is excessive moisture even if proper pH precaution have been taken.
